The trilogy continues the tale of the infamous assassin, Artemis Entreri, previously featured in books as Drizzt Do'Urden's self-proclaimed archenemy, and the cunning drow mercenary, Jarlaxle, previously relevant as the leader of Bregan D'aerthe, an outlaw group of drow based primarily in and around Menzoberranzan, that does business mostly with the drow of Menzoberranzan. It contains three books, Servant of the Shard (also included as the third book in the Paths of Darkness quartet, which books were later published as the 11th through 14th books of The Legend of Drizzt), Promise of the Witch-King, and Road of the Patriarch. I certainly haven't read all of Penny's books, only several in this series, but I don't remember them being this crazy hot. And Penny Reid had her couple getting down and dirty for her readers. I mean, hey, hey, heyyyyyyyy, hottie Matt! ::waggles brows:: My jaw dropped. These characters are quirky and charming, funny and sweet and also, REALLY SEXY! Yes, sexy as in "whoa, baby!" I was WOWED by the sexy times. So the fact that I sat down, did not get distracted, and finished this novel in less than 12 hours tells you just how fantastic it is.Ģ. Here are some of the things I am thinking! (Sorry, I have to structure my thoughts because they're a mess of a million and one things when it comes to this book!)ġ. In fact, this is the most HEARTFELT novel I have read this year. ![]() You'll ache, feel devastated at times, but it will leave you so happy and fulfilled. One that'll have you laughing and crying, swooning and wanting, needing all good things for these characters. A standalone novel that will surprise you with its depth and intensity. Coward, McCann and Geoghegan however published it in 1979, so I’m not sure which one is the correct publishing date (Wikipedia, 2020). Ghost story is Peter Straub’s maybe most known horror novel, which was (recording to Google search) first released in 1971. The exterior of the book matches ridiculously well to the content inside, and it brought something to the whole reading experience. I got (or took) this book from my mom, but I have no idea where she got it. It has this strong old book smell, some of the paces are loose or completely detached from the binding, it has very old looking font, and it has some markings that the previous owner made. ![]() This copy was made about the same time as the original edition. I’ve had this book in my bookcase for years, and never read it. Well, as you can see on the title, that didn’t happen. Initially I thought that because I have read so many thrillers recently, I would like to read something more light this time.
